VIA AQUATICA – French River Provincial Park 2026

This was my family’s first time into the east side of the French River Provincial Park. They spent some time in the west part of the park in the summer of 2024.

I broke this film up into the elemental parts of the different activities during the canoe trip: time spent on the water, in portage, on site and in the water. The plan for this trip was to paddle less kms and enjoy more time together – playing and relaxing on five different campsites in the area known as the 300’s (campsite reference #s). This area is actually more like a lake than a typical river.

Starting out from The Lodge at Pine Cove (on Wolseley Bay) we traveled to sites 321, 401, 337, 328 & 327. We also spent some time swimming at a beautiful rock ledge at site 323. Each site had its’ own unique character and all had a great view down or up the river. Our last night on this trip was a luxurious stay in the Hopkins Cottage at the Lodge at Pine Cove. This was a great pairing with the wonderful time we had as a family in our bare basic accommodations while paddling the French River.

Thanks to Salus and TREQA for providing great gear for us to use!
